In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the formal release, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden cult.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar tests and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Material

Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an special katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Titan-based attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
